Riviera Maya Hotel Association
Although hotel management is a very absorbing professional activity, I have dedicated personal time to give a contribution to the community. Ever since my arrival to Playa del Carmen, I became involved with the local hotel association. I earned the confidence of my peers to be elected President, Vice President, All Inclusive Hotels Representative and Promotion and Advertisement Committee Chairman.
In 1996, the destination began to take off and it was known as the Cancun Tulum Corridor. Such unappealing name had to be changed. After market research, Riviera Maya was adopted and trademarked. New taxation laws were enacted, coming into effect the Hotel Tax (2%) which was aimed to raise funds for destination promotion and advertisement. The Riviera Maya Promotion Fund was formed, and I participated in all these important steps that made the Riviera Maya grow solidly and steadily for more than 10 years.

Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA)
I havealso represented the interests of Riviera Maya's hoteliers before the Caribbean Hotel Association, one of the most important industry forums which involves all Caribbean destinations. Conferences and analysis, sharing the Riviera Maya Promotion Fund experience were given in the Dominican Republic , participating in conferences with other leaders of the region.
